DRIVEWAYS & PATIOS
Stamped Concrete
Stamped concrete is the process of pressing decorative or natural impressions into wet concrete using rubber stamps. This is a great way to add a unique flair to your pool deck, patio, walkway or driveway.
There are many benefits to using stamped concrete. Concrete is one of the most durable building materials available for paving, this comes in handy for high traffic areas such as driveways and walkways. With proper preparation, steel reinforcing and finishing techniques, stamped concrete is second to none in terms of its durability.
Choosing stamped concrete over other paving materials (such as natural stone) can be a more economical choice. When installed properly, with rebar enforcing as done at Impressions, stamped concrete can offer the same looks as natural stone and slate but with the durability to last a lifetime. The biggest advantage to stamped concrete is the variety of appearances and colours combined with the durability of concrete. Concrete stamping provides unlimited design opportunities such as aged cobblestones, brickwork, flagstones, slate tile, marble, granite, wood, or just about any natural surface. Take a look at the wide variety of textures and colours we can offer below.
Benefits of Stamped Concrete
1. Concrete requires very little maintenance and is easy to clean.
2. Concrete is exceptionally durable.
3. After water, concrete is the second most consumed substance on earth.”)
4. Concrete can simulate the look of other materials. It can be coloured, textured and
stamped to resemble brick, flagstone, wood, slate, marble and granite.
5. When installed inside a home, radiant heated concrete can reduce energy consumption
by as much as 50% due to its excellent thermal mass energy consumption.
6. Concrete is completely non-combustible (classified A1 fire retardant material) and has a
slow rate of heat transfer, making it highly effective against the spread of fire.
7. Concrete is non-allergenic – it does not harbor dust, dirt, pollen, or other allergens.
8. Concrete is “pet friendly” – accidents wipe up with a damp cloth.
9. Concrete allows endless possibilities for creative custom design.
Care and Maintenance:
Use sand instead of salt for traction on snow and ice. Salt may cause premature wear
and spalling and should be avoided. Ice melter products may cause sealer to delaminate.
All sealers must be approved by Impressions Group Ottawa. Use of an unapproved
sealer can lead to chemical reactions, discoloration, yellowing, delamination and/or
other unwanted side effects.
Brake fluid will remove the sealer and stain the concrete. Leaks in brake lines should be
taken care of immediately.
Gas, oil or other chemical spills on the surface must be cleaned immediately to avoid
damaging the surface.
Repair any fluid leaks on vehicles as soon as you notice them because repetitive spillage
on the concrete can cause damages.
Cleaning of the concrete during the summer can be done with a pressure washer,
garden hose or household detergents.
Do not use solvents for cleaning the concrete as this may adversely affect the sealer.
Seal annually to ensure longevity of the concrete.
Do not place items on concrete that may stain or make marks on the surface, these
include but are not limited to potted plants, rubber mats, rusty patio furniture,
barbecue that leak grease.
Leaves or other organic materials left on the surface to decompose may lead to
discoloration.

Interlock

Combine the durability of concrete with the beauty of interlocking stone with our wide variety of pavers and masonry. Interlocking stone provides an admirable curb appeal at the front of the house and a sense of charm and elegance around the house.
We prepare the surface for placement of interlocking stone differently than most other interlock installers. We pour a reinforced concrete base under our interlocking stone jobs. This base creates a structural slab that prevents shifting bricks and weeds from poking through the surface, making your project virtually maintenance free. We can also help you create lasting flowerbeds and retaining walls by using concrete as a footing for the walls to eliminate potential shifting of stones.

Jewelstone
Jewelstone can be used on old, damaged concrete to transform it to have a beautiful decorative faux stone finish at a fraction of the cost of replacing the concrete. Jewelstone can be used both indoors and outdoors, in commercial and residential settings, to bring old concrete back to life with greater durability and strength than before. It is ideal for terraces, patios, walkways, garages, and in commercial settings with a near limitless number of colour and design options.
